Jantzen Tailor - The Handmade Shirt (shirt photos)

A reader of this blog requested fit information. Please that fit is highly personal, and comparing bespoke garments based on fit is highly susceptible to factors including (but not limited to): the exact staff member handling the fitting, whether the customer's body type is commonly encountered in the locality, and input provided by the customer during the fitting (if applicable).

Personally, I am satisfied with this fit. What do you think? 😊

  1. The denim shirt fits you quite well.
I saw the earlier post, they pinned the right shoulder little slope. The result, the right shoulder very smooth now.
The arm width just right on the spot. ( you got thin arms) turn out not too loose!
    Good shirt!

  2. The final product seems fit you very well. How's the quality after washed? All the hand stitching still in good condition?

  3. Hi Sam and Justin!

Great to hear your feedback on the fit. Indeed Jantzen stood up to their reputation as a “Canton gang” tailor - which pride themselves on, among other things, fit and versatility. Stitching is fine after machine wash (I put shirts in a garment bag when I wash them in a washing machine).

    1. Good, I have tried their easy iron shirts in the past. All machine finished. I really awaiting for your comment, before I order the full hand made bespoke causal denim shirt. But, I decided to let them make the half hand made one. (the hand packet, hand made button-hole, hand sewn chicken feet button shank and thick Mother of pearl button for the first one.) save up the money for 2 causal denim shirts. **hehehe**
Thank you for your useful information! Before your shirt post. I never think about the hand finished shirt. How even none of my tailor (pervious tailor included Jantzen Tailor) mention about the hand work for tailor shirt. May be no tailor wants to involve that kind of **pig head bone**

  4. Watched your blog for while. This post is very interesting, to compare Hong Kong tailor VS Italian High end hand tailor.
You have very good patience and heart to study good the shirting and tailoring. And willing to share with others.
Now a day, in Shanghai I found few young tailor they started the full hand tailor bespoke shirt.
The hand woks are pretty good. But, the problem is, they are very expensive and they don't care about the fitting. I saw your denim shirt fits very well on you. (you are a thin person, the shirt turned out not tight and not loose. Just fit.)
I ordered one from Shanghai young tailor. The hand work just okay. But, the fitting for the shirt, too baggy! I have business shirt tailored from Jantzen Tailor, they fit me quite well. So, after I studied from your post. I want to have full hand finished denim shirt from them to have a try. But, I will have a shorter cut for untucked.
